MY START TO COLLECTING BASEBALL CARDS

Growing up at a very young age, I was introduced to collecting baseball cards.

There was nothing like the feeling of opening up a pack of baseball cards with the smell of the pink gum stick that was included in most baseball card packs.

Whether it was a wax, cello or rack pack, I enjoyed the thrill of seeing Major League Baseball stars pictures on the front and on the back view their stats and personal bio.

My DNA indicates I’m a New York Yankees fan but when I started collecting baseball cards I kept getting Mike Schmidt baseball cards in the packs I opened. He was a great third baseman from the Philadelphia Phillies who was later elected into the Baseball Hall of Fame in Cooperstown.

So with the help of baseball cards, I also became a fan of the Phillies along with the Yankees.

Baseball card collecting at a young age was an innocent time in my life and something I pursued as an active hobby growing up.

EXPANDING TO COLLECTING OTHER SPORTS CARDS & ODD-BALL CARDS

Later on I went on to also collect football, basketball and even hockey cards. Yeah, I was hooked!

I even collected Star Wars trading cards! Yes, I’m dated myself…but growing up I was a huge sports fan across the board.

Having collected over 120,000 sports cards by my late teenage years, lets just say I’ve done my fair share of sports cards collecting! 🙂
